Monifa D. Drayton

As a vision engineer, Monifa is dedicated to moving individuals and teams from “I hope to be,” to “I AM!” Since 2015, Monifa has served as a principal consultant for L.E.A.D. ² (Lead Square) which has allowed her to operate in her passion of developing, encouraging and coaching people through theory, training, and simply sharing her stories of bumps and bruises along the way! Additionally, she has served as a leader within the healthcare industry in a variety of roles which the core functions being business development, process improvement, market strategic planning, relationship development and transformational operations.
Being cited as a “leader among leaders,” Ms. Drayton has received numerous leadership awards which include “Top 100 Under 50 Emerging Leaders,” Nations Ford Community Leader Awards, the inaugural Emerging Community Leader Award, the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Alumna Award, Carolinas HealthCare System Fire Starter Award, and ten consecutive years of top-tier employee engagement recognition. Understanding that leadership should also be used to impact the community, she currently serves as a Board of Directors for the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board which contributes millions of dollars to community wellness programs, Charlotte Chamber of Commerce Power of Women affinity group, and as a mentor to several women throughout the Charlotte community. Her most life-changing experience was teaching at the Discovery School in Bujumbuura, Burundi where she learned the true meaning of happiness.
Monifa earned her Masters of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from South Carolina State University.
In her free time, she enjoys community service, golf, running, live music and the theater.
