Derrick “Fly Ty” Jacobs is a national radio, television and event host. He is a veteran in Charlotte Radio and started back in 1995. He currently produces the Steve Harvey Morning Show and hosts his own show, the FlyTy and Jacinda show every Sunday morning on V1019. His passion in radio took him to Dallas Texas working on the #1 stations K104 and KNRB 105.7. Five years later returning home to Charlotte to work with My92.7 and 105.3.

In 2014 “Fly Ty” joined Charlotte’s NBA franchise, The Charlotte Hornets as the in-game Host. He also works very closely with the Charlotte Hornets Foundation emceeing the Hornets literacy program called “Hugo’s House of Reading”.

Derrick Jacobs is very involved in community work. His passion for helping others is shown by feeding and empowering the homeless at The Harvest Center of Charlotte and Hashtag Lunch Bag Charlotte. Derrick and his wife, Jacinda launched Stolen Lunches, which is a nonprofit organization with a mission to inspire, empower families by stealing away from the busyness of life to be fed by God. He also has his own charitable organization “Fly kids” which helps less fortunate children by providing them with school supplies, free haircuts, and Christmas gifts.

He is most proud of being a husband to his best friend, partner in life and in ministry- Jacinda Jacobs. His greatest achievement is being a father to Cameron, Jordan, Christian and Tavario. He credits his success in life to his faith in God and his passion to serve others.
