Principal of Nixon & Company Consulting Group

Kellen Nixon is the Principal of Nixon & Company Consulting Group. The group was launched in 2018 to provide innovative solutions to non-profits, community organizations, and K-12 Education that promote a stronger sense of community and organizational purpose. With that mission in mind, Nixon leverages over nearly 2 decades of professional commitment to Education Reform, which started in Higher Education with an emphasis on Teacher Education Reform. He brings nearly 15 years of museum leadership to the Group's client work and a great deal of expertise with respect to community listening/engagement/ redevelopment, strategic planning, culture-making, organizational development, accountability models, non-profit management, DEAI, and social/educational reform. In 2020, Kellen was enshrined in Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University’s (FAMU) College of Social Sciences Gallery of Distinction for his DEAI work within museums. The following year, Nixon was recognized on Blooloop’s 50 Museum Influencers List for the national DEAI work being carried out by Nixon & Co. Within minutes of engaging Nixon in dialogue around the Group's work, his lived experiences offer up levels of understanding and unique proximity to those most negatively impacted by our country's racial/social inequities. Through our team's different lived experiences and shared values around DEAI work, we offer our clients different but very authentic perspectives and empathies. We are very open about the fact that we know that we are on our journey to see and understand our own biases around race, gender, sexual orientation, and systems of oppression. That being said, we also acknowledge that our paths to this work were paved with careers and personal experiences that perpetuated systems of inequities. This aids in creating environments with ourselves and our clients where clear-eyed and full hearted honesty results in equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and courage to disrupt these oppressive systems. We have committed to each other, and by extension to all of our clients, that we are going to spend the rest of our professional lives working to dismantle DEAI issues including, but not limited to, white supremacy/racism, misogyny, patriarchy, colonialism, and ableism, to create a better world for ourselves and our children. Leaders and organizations must have the courage that allows every team member to proudly and unapologetically show up with every intersectional identity that makes them who they are. The Group offers opportunities through a myriad of innovative and highly impactful consulting services. Please visit www.nixonand.co for more information.
