Organization Development and DEI Consultant

Darryl White Sr. owns DLW Consulting, which provides organization development consulting, specializing in diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI) and organization culture. He also serves as Assistant Dean of Diversity, Inclusion and Community Engagement at Queens University of Charlotte.  Prior to coming to Queens in 2016, he served as Vice President of Family Services at Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte for 22 years.  Darryl also served 34 years in the U.S. Army Reserves, retiring in March 2020 at the rank of Command Sergeant Major, the highest enlisted rank in the Army.  He is a graduate of several military leadership schools to include the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, an accredited academic Institution of Excellence for the Army’s senior noncommissioned officers.

Darryl is a double graduate of Queens University of Charlotte, earning an undergraduate degree in Sociology in 1992 and a MS in Talent and Organization Development (MSTOD) in 2021.  In 2008 he completed Community Building Initiative’s LDI Program, a signature 12-month program which supports board members and senior staff in the leadership role they and their organizations play in building a more inclusive and equitable community.

Darryl previously served on the Queens Alumni Board and on the Queens Center for Active Citizenship Advisory Board.  He also served on the board of directors for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Housing Partnership for seven years and served as board chair for one year.  He has served on the board of Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region for the past two years and is currently serving on the executive committee as board secretary.  He is a recipient of the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow awarded by Rotary International for his commitment to serving the community through change and understanding.  In 2019 he was inducted into the honor society of Phi Kappa Phi and is a 2023 recipient of the inaugural Algernon Sydney Sullivan Engaged Faculty and Staff Award.

Darryl is a certified facilitator of the Actualized Performance Cycle for leaders and group culture and a trained facilitator of various styles of interpersonal and group dialogues.
